Approximately 1,485 people attended the Tire Industry Association's (TIA) International Tire Expo two weeks ago in Louisville, Ky., according to TIA reports.
The count breaks down to 581 exhibitors and 904 buyers/others.
A total of 1,837 people originally registered for the event.
TIA attributes the disparity to concerns about domestic and international air travel.
"Almost every exhibitor I spoke with was happy with the attendance, given current events," says TIA President Tom Raben.
TIA plans to announce dates and location of the next World Tire Expo at its board meeting next month.
In other World Tire Expo news, the 29th Retread Appearance Contest resulted in a first-ever tie for "Best of Show" in the Precure Truck division between T.M. Tire Co. Inc. of Crestwood, Ill., and Heintschel Tire & Service of Texarkana, Texas.
T.M. Tire also snagged top honors in the Mold Cure Truck division.
Other winners included Industrias Del Neumatico S.A. of Aspe, Spain, in the Passenger/Light Truck category and Recauchutagem 31 of Allobaca, Portugal, in the Specialty category.
