Solideal Tire was named "Supplier of the Year" by Nissan Forklift Corp. of North America for the second consecutive year.
Nissan rates its nearly 150 suppliers on quality, cost and delivery (QCD) as part of its QCD report. The company earning Supplier of the Year honors needs to perform "almost perfectly" in categories such as quality and rejected parts rate; cost reduction planning and implementation; on-time and correct deliveries; reaction time; and follow-up on requests and corrective actions.
Mark Akabori, Solideal's senior vice president of sales and marketing, was on hand to receive the award. He was joined by Ted Vanke, OEM sales manager, and Randy Baietto, branch manager for Solideal's Machesney Park, Ill., facility.
