Coker Tire adds West Coast service center

May 23, 2003

Coker Tire Co. is opening a new West Coast sales and service facility in Fresno, Calif., on June 1 to supplement its Tennessee headquarters.

The new Coker Tire business center, located at 5468 East Lamona, will operate as a full-service store. The center will stock, supply and install all current Coker Tire products including tires and wheels for antiques, classics, muscle cars, street rods and customs, Pro Street machines, vintage trucks and racing cars, and motorcycles.

Coker’s Honest Charley Speed Shop merchandise, Monster Cruiser bicycles, specialized apparel and collectibles also will be available at the new Fresno location, as well as through the traditional Coker Tire Web site at www.coker.com.

"There are a number of reasons we selected a West Coast site for our expansion," says Corky Coker, president of Coker Tire. "A California location allows us to be on the cutting edge of developing trends in the collector and vintage car market since most of today's automotive trends tend to initiate on the West Coast.

"Other advantages for our customers include a decreased freight rate and a savings on shipping expenses, since it costs about $110 to ship a set of tires to buyers in California from our Tennessee facility. The new Fresno operation also allows us to deliver tires in a timely manner to our growing base of West Coast customers, with next-day delivery now available anywhere in California."

Retail hours of operation will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (PST) Monday through Friday.

All of the company’s products also can be ordered through Coker Tire’s Vintage Tire Hotline by calling (800) 251-6336.
