Michelin supports Special Olympics

Michelin North America Inc. is donating $250,000 to the Special Olympics.

Bibendum bobble-head doll sales will help Michelin reach that goal. Beginning today through July 31, 2003, the seven-inch "Michelin Man" bobblehead dolls can be purchased for $16.75 plus shipping and handling ($22 including UPS ground shipping) at www.michelinman.com.

For each doll sold, a $5 donation will be made to Special Olympics USA.

Consumers also can receive a free bobblehead doll when they purchase Michelin tires from June 1 through July 31, 2003, from participating domestic dealers.

"Michelin and its dealers are supporting our alliance with Special Olympics through the sale of Michelin tires," says Sheryl Henderson, director of the Michelin brand.

The bobblehead dolls are similar to the doll that co-stars in Michelin's Cross Terrain SUV tire television commercial.
