Toyo encourages safe racing

Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp.'s "Take it to the Track" campaign promotes a safe alternative to illegal and often dangerous street racing.

"Our goal is to make young (tuner) enthusiasts aware that there are local race tracks available for their use," says Gregg Vandermark, Toyo's manager, performance events and activities.

The campaign includes professional drivers who promote the theme via TV and radio interviews, plus support materials, including brochures, that are available to schools and law enforcement agencies.

Toyo also has posted a Web site,, that provides updated information on legal racing at local tracks and a comprehensive directory of tracks around the country.
