Pirelli SpA's revenue for the first half of 2003 totaled 3 billion euros vs. 3.3 billion euros recorded during the same period last year.
Pirelli's first half operating income was 131 million euros, a 41% increase from the first half of 2002.
The Italian company's first half tire sales were 1.5 billion euros, up 1.4% over same- period 2002 sales.
Pirelli's "tire sector continues to record increasingly good results," according to Pirelli officials, and operating income growth is expected during the second half of the year.
