American Tire Distributors lauches updated Web site

American Tire Distributors has launched its re-engineered Web site ( with an updated design, expanded functionality and sections tailored specifically for consumers, dealers, media, investors and current and prospective employees.

"We approached this project knowing that different people need different types of information and that we wanted to drive consumers into the tire dealerships we support," says Jason Shannon, American's director of marketing.

"Our dealer locator, complete with contact information and driving directions, is a feature we hope will bring together consumers searching for products and the dealers we serve."

In addition to a dealer locator, other interactive features include the Wheel Wizard, which allows customers to visually install a variety of wheels on their vehicles with the click of a mouse. Customers can then evaluate the cosmetic changes these products have on their vehicle before purchasing the options at their local tire dealership, the company says.

American Tire Distributors is headquartered in Charlotte, N.C., and operates 62 distribution centers servicing 35 states.
