Callaghan Tire expands retread plant

March 8, 2005

Bradenton, Fla.-based Callaghan Tire is expanding the size of its retread plant in Riviera Beach, Fla. "We think it will produce a couple hundred retreads a day in a couple of years," says Callaghan Tire CEO Dan Callaghan.

The shop currently produces 80 truck tire retreads a day, according to Callaghan. The dealership's Bradenton retread shop cranks out 280 truck tire retreads per day. (Last year at this time, Callaghan's two retread plants were producing 225 units a day combined.)

"Our retread business is good." Callaghan says his company's 11 commercial tire centers help "feed into" the retread plants, thereby boosting their output.
