Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plans to boost production at its Union City, Tenn., tire plant and will call 160 laid-off workers back to the factory as part of the process.
"The additional associates are needed to fill existing vacancies and openings created by the increased production schedule" spurred by growing demand for Goodyear passenger tires, say Goodyear officials.
Last fall, Goodyear announced it would reduce production at the Union City factory by 10%, effective Nov. 1.
