Standards Testing Laboratories (STL) Trans Tech will hold its next 2005 Tire Technology Seminar Oct. 4-6 at the company's Massillon, Ohio-based testing and evaluation facility.
Designed for both entry-level engineers and individuals who need to know about tires in their jobs, the seminar covers tire basics.
"Past seminar attendees have included a range of individuals -- from attorneys who deal with tire litigation to raw material suppliers to Department of Transportation and National Highway and Transportation Safety Administration representatives and Federal Bureau of Investigation staff that conduct tire footprint research," said Cheryl Schnuth, vice president, marketing, STL. "Even the Environmental Protection Agency has sent their people through the seminar."
The two-and-a-half day seminar provides a comprehensive overview of tire industry technology: tire nomenclature, raw materials and manufacturing, design, construction, testing, applications and other tire topics are addressed by a panel of engineering, chemistry, physics and tire industry professionals.

-- Tour of STL dynamic testing facility and tire analysis
* Day three (Thursday, Oct. 6; 8:30 a.m. - noon)

-- Uniform Tire Quality Grading (UTQG)
A registration fee of $800 includes admission to the seminar, all materials, three lunches, the evening banquet and refreshments throughout the course.
