Michelin unveils urban use truck tire

Michelin North America Inc. (MNA) has introduced a new truck tire for urban applications, the XZU3.

The XZU3 is available in two sizes, 305/85R22.5 and 305/75R24.5, and is designed for transit buses, delivery vehicles and sanitation trucks.

It contains extra-thick sidewalls with depth indicators and 24% more tread volume than its predecessor, the XZU2, say MNA officials.

The tire's "extra robust casing design and special, elongated metallic chafer in the bead extends (its) retreadability."
