Toyo receives new ISO certification

Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. is ISO 9001:2000 certified.

The new ISO 9001:2000 certification is the most recent standard set forth by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It requires a company to conform to a "Mission and Quality Policy" resulting in "a measurable output."

According to the company, Toyo's Mission and Quality Policy includes parameters for the following:

* a "quality policy for employees.

* a "quality objective" with a sales-oriented goal of customer satisfaction.

* a "quality strategy" which includes establishing an efficient organization.

* a "commitment to quality" resulting in the improved effectiveness of a business/quality system.

"We are pleased to meet the certification requirements for ISO 9001:2000 standards, as it supports our company’s goal to provide quality in every area of our business, from management practices to customer satisfaction," says President Shozo (Carlos) Kibata.

The International Organization for Standardization spans 148 countries, with national standards institutes based in each country.
