Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has announced three key title changes as part of a realignment in its tire group. All will be effective May 1.
Dick Stephens has been named president of the North American Tire Division, while Harold Miller has been named president of Cooper's International Tire Division.
Their new assignments are "the result of a realignment within Cooper's tire group to better focus on target markets, support the company's strategic plan and ensure the right resources are in place to grow the tire business globally," according to the company.
Stephens was formerly president of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.'s tire division. Miller joined Cooper in March 2002 as vice president of corporate planning and control.
"As we grow our tire business around the world, the North American market continues to be our largest and most important market," says Tom Dattilo, chairman, CEO and president. "Our growth in North America must continue and provide the resources for our business expansion. Dick has a proven track record as head of our tire group and his leadership is invaluable to our continued success."
Dattilo says the tire group's strategy has evolved to include capitalizing on emerging markets around the world, which caters to Miller's strengths.
"Hal is well equipped to lead our opportunities for manufacturing, marketing and outsourcing in Asia, Eastern Europe and other areas of the world."
Pat Brown, formerly vice president of advertising and communications, has been promoted to vice president of global branding and communications.
"This newly created position will help provide continuity in our positioning of the Cooper brands around the world," says Dattilo. "It is important that our brands and company are portrayed in a consistent manner to all shareholders, investors, dealers, consumers and employees."
Brown's responsibilities will include communications, investor relations, brand management and development, and graphic arts. She also will oversee advertising in North America, Asia and Europe.
