AutoZone's sales for its third fiscal quarter, ended May 8, totaled $1.3 billion, an increase of 5.6% from the same period last year.
Same store sales grew 2% while retail same store sales increased by 1%, according to AutoZone officials.
AutoZone's net income for the quarter jumped 13.8% to $143.4 million.
AutoZone opened 38 new stores during that time period, acquired 12 stores from ABC Auto Parts -- a regional auto parts chain -- and replaced another outlet in the United States.
