ITDG inks supply agreement with Pep Boys

May 26, 2004

Juno, Fla.-based Independent Tire Dealers Group (ITDG) has signed a contract with Pep Boys -- Manny, Moe & Jack that will allow its members to source auto parts and tires from the chain's Pep Express commercial locations.

"Obviously, (Pep Express locations) need to be in proximity of ITDG members to make sure they maintain an acceptable service level," says ITDG President Mike Cox.

"A majority of our members would fall within the acceptable range."

Pep Boys also will provide an on-time delivery guarantee, local warranty support and other benefits, plus service on Saturdays and in many cases, Sundays.

"The agreement is on-going," says Cox, and is subject to change upon written notice.

ITDG is comprised of 90 tire dealerships with 260 total locations throughout California, Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico and Hawaii.

The group racked up $55 million in sales last year and is looking for sales of $62 million to $65 million in 2004.
