Sullivan Tire teams up with baseball legend Jim Rice

March 27, 2008

Sullivan Tire and Auto Service will launch a local baseball blog with retired Boston Red Sox outfielder Jim Rice.

The blog, www.ask14.com, is the official home for Rice's thoughts and insights throughout the 2008 Major League Baseball season.

Rice grew up in South Carolina and was drafted by the Boston Red Sox in 1971. He played with the Sox from 1974–1989. Since retiring from baseball, he has worked with the Red Sox organization as a batting coach and hitting instructor, and is currently a commentator on NESN.

“Jim has been a friend of Sullivan Tire for many years, and will actually appear in one of our commercials this season,” says Sullivan Tire Vice President Paul Sullivan. “We are thrilled to have this unique opportunity to connect him with his fans and Red Sox nation through this interactive blog.”

Questions, comments and feedback can be submitted to Rice at www.ask14.com. By visiting the blog, fans also can enter to win a $200 gift certificate from Sullivan Tire every week. The blog is linked to and from Sullivan Tire’s own Web site at www.sullivantire.com.

Sullivan Tire and Auto Service has 47 locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Maine.
