Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. is exhibiting at the 25th International Automobile Trade Show, which runs from Oct. 27 through Nov. 9, 2008, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The company says it hopes to increase recognition of the "Yokohama" brand in Latin America, which is a key region in its global growth strategy.
A wide range of Yokohama product lines will be showcased at the exhibit, including the following:
* the company's global flagship brand, Advan;
* the ".drive" series, which is popular in Latin America, according to Yokohama; and
* two SUV tire lines, Geolander and Parada Spec-X.
Also on display in the Yokohama booth will be the "Mach 5" -- with Yokohama tires -- from the Hollywood film "Speed Racer."
Last April, Yokohama established a local subsidiary, Yokohama Rubber Latin America Comercio Ltda, in Sao Paulo.
The Sao Paulo Motor Show is staged every other year. At the previous show, in 2006, a total of 650,000 people visited, 100,000 more than in 2004.
