Nov. 19, 2008
The final round of the Toyo Tires Drift Australia Championship for 2008 at Oran Park Speedway in Sydney on Sept. 20-21 saw Federal tires slide to success “with a fruitful upshot,” according to the company. Federal finished the incredible and amazing season strong. Khudar Elhaouli, Tom Monkhouse, Eugene Arendsen and Nathan Weissel were outfitted with the Federal brand throughout the entire action-packed schedule of the championship, and were in good position to end the year at the “pointed end of the field.” Overall, they finished fourth, eighth, ninth and 10th, respectively, in the overall points championship. Elhaouli finished fourth at the last Drift Australia race.

Federal, which has substantially focused on hardcore activities for its ultra-high performance tires over recent years, followed up successful trials by winning on many occasions this year. "Once again, we continue the rise to prominence in the southern hemisphere, while Team Federal Tyres drivers continue to exercise their domination for racing enthusiasts and fans alike in the drifting scene," said the company.

Another highlight of the 2008 season for Federal Tyres was the team drift competition, led by Weissel, Trent Whyte and Arendsen.

"We are proud to acknowledge everyone in Team Federal Tyres with their efforts and accomplishment secured today, which said everything about how well our product really performed," said the company. "But we will not be complacent as we fully understand our ultimate objective is a passion to create a better tire that clearly pays off to breed more champs.

"Look forward to an even bigger year in 2009 -- we can hardly wait!"
