Nokian reports year 2000 sales increases

Feb. 13, 2001

Nokian Tyres PLC's year 2000 net sales, in euros, jumped 23.5% from 1999.

The Finnish company's passenger tire sales -- nearly 70% of which were snow tires -- grew by 13.5% last year. Its heavy commercial truck tire sales increased 4.2%.

"The target for 2001 is to continue to grow at a clearly faster pace than the market average, i.e., over 10% of net sales," say Nokian officials.

However, the manufacturer expects raw materials costs to jump 10%.
