ACCC unveils American Gold Edition premium tire

American Car Care Centers (ACCC) is unveiling its new American Gold Edition tire this month to its 1,000-plus dealers across the country.

The tire will fill the premium level slot in the American Radial product screen, and be co-branded with Uniroyal, says the company. "This is a new direction for ACCC in that the tire will be an exclusive offering featuring both brand names."

The Uniroyal American Gold edition is being built in 21 sku's. The tire has a 600 AB UTQG rating and comes in both white and black sidewalls.

To support the sales effort for the dealers, ACCC is backing the tire with:

* a four-year workmanship or material defect warranty

* four-year road hazard protection

* a 70,000-mile limited tread wear warranty

* a four-year roadside assistance package

* a 30-day ride guarantee

* free rotations, flat repairs and rebalance.

"The new Gold is part of repositioning the American Radial line to offer more profit opportunity for our dealers," says ACCC. "The positioning of our product line has been the American Bronze as the entry-level tire, American Silver as a step-up, and the Gold as a premium product.

"To coincide with the new Gold, the American Silver has been re-positioned to be more competitive as a step-up tire in our product screen, and the Bronze has been eliminated in favor of a more aggressively priced entry-level product.

"The objective has always been and continues to be to provide an exclusive product line that would be more profitable for our dealers. This new line-up meets that objective."

To launch the new Uniroyal American Gold, ACCC is rolling out its biggest consumer promotion ever, says the company. Beginning November 1st, when a customer purchases four American Golds, they will receive a custom-made BMX-style bike free. The bike is an "ACE Gold Racer" made exclusively for ACCC.

Additionally, participating dealers will receive advertising support material and dollars, POP display packages, and AmeriCash incentives at the retail level.
