Michelin, McGriff end retread agreement

Oct. 18, 2002

Michelin Retread Technologies Inc. (MRTI) and McGriff Treading Co. have parted ways after failing to agree on contract renewal terms and conditions.

McGriff was MRTI's first retreader, joining the program in November 1997.

The Cullman, Ala.-based dealership is the 13th largest retreader in the United States, according to Modern Tire Dealer data.

It has four plants that produce 900 medium truck and 20 light truck retreads per day.

McGriff uses Oliver and Bandamatic's precure systems and the Hawkinson mold system.
