The Bridgestone Potenza RE050 RFT run-flat tire will be original equipment on the BMW Z4 roadster.
The car's 2.5i base model comes with size 225/50R16 92V tires; its more extensively equipped 3.0i model comes with size 225/45R17 91W tires.
"Bridgestone engineers have worked closely with BMW engineers for the past three years on the development program for this application," says Michael Martini, vice president, Bridgestone/Firestone North American Consumer Tire OE Sales.
Bridgestone/Firestone has been supplying tires to BMW's Spartanburg, S.C., plant since 1999.
