O.K. Tire plans further expansion

Dec. 5, 2002

O.K. Tire Stores Inc., the Canadian-based distribution network, plans to expand its warehouse capabilities in Quebec and Ontario "due to increased sales and expected increases in the store base in 2003," according to Nelson Gray, senior vice president.

Expansion already is underway in other Canadian provinces. Earlier this year, O.K. Tire expanded in the province of Saskatchewan by moving into larger facilities in Saskatoon and purchasing an additional warehouse site in Regina.

"The growth of our store/franchisee base over the last 12 months has been very encouraging, but certainly challenging at the same time," says CEO Ken MacLeod. "With growth comes the need to service that base of customers and to continue to ensure that our service levels are maintained."

O.K. Tire, based in Langley, British Columbia, began the year with 212 active franchises. The number now stands at 225.
