Wholesale Tire Distributors and Arroyo Tires are introducing the new Tamarock X-R/T, "an extreme rugged-terrain tire engineered for drivers who demand an aggressive off-road presence" with on-highway capabilities.

The new tire is built for lifted trucks, SUVs and off-road builds "that need more than a conventional R/T can provide," say Arroyo Tires officials.

The Tamarock X-R/T is designed as "a more extreme interpretation of the rugged-terrain category," bridging the gap between an R/T and a full mud-terrain tire – "delivering increased aggression, stronger biting traction and a commanding appearance while maintaining the road manners needed for daily driving."

The new tire boasts a bold tread pattern featuring "large, laterally oriented blocks" with "stepped block edges" to enhance traction across different terrain. The tire's tread blocks, grooves and sidewall elements are all designed to tackle rocks, mud, sand and snow, according to officials. The Tamarock X-R/T's lateral grooves and zigzag valleys throughout the tread help during wet-weather driving while also supporting traction in snow and loose terrain.

The Tamarock XR/T also features a "dual-sidewall finish, available in black/red and black/white treatments," offering drivers the ability to choose the appearance that best complements their vehicle.

Other key features of the new tire include a "wide, flat contact patch (that) keeps more of the tread consistently connected to the road, while the stable block arrangement supports smooth driving, responsive handling and controlled highway performance," say Arroyo Tires officials. "The result is a tire that looks and performs aggressively without behaving like a dedicated off-road tire during everyday use."
