Omni United founder makes 'Fortune' list

April 2, 2012

G.S. Sareen, CEO and president of  Omni United Pte. Ltd., has been named to "Fortune" magazine’s 2012 list of "Asia’s 25 Hottest People in Business."

"Fortune" profiled 25 entrepreneurs, CEOs and other top executives and business leaders in its April issue who are "shaking up" the Asian business environment with creative business models and unique enterprises.

"It is a tremendous honor for me and my team to be recognized by such a prestigious publication," says Sareen.

Prior to founding Omni in 2003, Sareen was an early entrepreneur in the online e-commerce industry. He has received numerous entrepreneurships awards, including the “Singapore Fastest Growing Company Award,” “Singapore Entrepreneur of the Year Award” and the “CNBC Business Emerging India Award.”

Omni United reached sales of more than $180 million in 2011, and is positioned to reach its goal of $1 billion by 2015. According to Sareen, one of Omni’s key strategic directions over the next few years is to become "a truly eco-friendly tire company."

In 2011, Omni partnered with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to launch the Radar “Pink Ribbon” tire in 2011. Radar is the flagship tire brand of Omni United.

Omni United says the United States market accounts for 65% of its revenues. It sold more than 2 million consumer tires in the U.S. last year though tire and auto parts wholesalers and retailers including TCI Tire Centers (a wholly owned subsidiary of Michelin North America Inc.), American Tire Distributors Inc. and Sears Auto Centers.
