Sensor maker chooses distribution channel

Nov. 15, 2012

VDO REDI-Sensor multi-application TPMS sensors will be offered to service technicians at the more than 4,000 Federated Auto Parts stores across the United States.

The sensors will be offered as part of the Federated Co-Man program, which is distributed out of the Federated Co-Man Warehouse in Staunton, Va. As a result, Federated customers will be able to service more than 80% of all vehicles in North America with only three SKUs.

Larry Pavey, president of the Co-Man business unit for Federated Auto Parts Distributors Inc., says the company chose to partner with Continental AG's Commercial Vehicles & Aftermarket business unit for its acknowledged leadership in TPMS technology.

"Its breakthrough VDO REDI-Sensor fits right in with our reputation for supplying top-quality, name brand parts.”

VDO REDI-Sensor multi-application TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) sensors are compatible with all major TPMS scan tools and require no sensor programming, added training or new tool investments. They come pre-programmed and are designed to follow the standard OEM vehicle relearn procedures.

Overall coverage includes the following vehicle makes: Acura, Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Ford, GMC, Honda, Hummer, Hyundai, Infiniti, Isuzu, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, Scion, Suzuki, Toyota and Volkswagen.
