Big O Tires LLC recently honored Gary Wilson Jr. as Big O Tires/National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Technician of the Year. Wilson was presented with the honor at ASE‘s annual board meeting held on Nov. 14, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas.
Wilson, a Certified Master Technician with several ASE certifications, has been employed at the Big O Tires store located at 11910 Shelbyville Road in Louisville, Ky, for almost 25 years.
“Gary is truly a great asset to our stores and the Big O Tires brand,” says Big O Tires franchisee Joe Happel, co-owner of the Louisville store. “He is passionate about sharing his wealth of knowledge and is the backbone of our service department.”
“As a mechanic who loves what I do, I am always looking to increase my technical knowledge and sharpen my skills through various training opportunities. It is truly an honor to be recognized as the Big O Tires/ASE Technician of the Year,” says Wilson.
“ASE sets the standard for excellence in the industry. Their certifications show employers and customers that you are serious about your trade and that you are competent in your skills.”
Local parts supplier Moog Louisville Warehouse, a subsidiary of Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance Inc., recognized Wilson with $1,000 gift certificate for tools.
Wilson was selected as the Big O Tires/ASE Technician of the Year based on the number of ASE certifications and scores, recommendations from customers and his supervisor, as well as his commitment to his friends and community. In 2007, Wilson donated a Kidney to a friend.
