ACCC to raise money for Children's Miracle Network

Jan. 21, 2009

American Car Care Centers Inc. (ACCC) and the Children's Miracle Network have a launched a new fundraising promotion, "ACCCelerating Miracles," that will kick off on March 15.

"ACCC dealers across the country will be raising funds for their local children's hospitals" through the program, say ACCC officials.

Participating ACCC members will sell special Children's Miracle Network balloons to raise money "and will participate in a unique mailing/sweepstakes campaign created to encourage consumers to visit their local ACCC dealer to make a donation."

Proceeds will be donated to Children's Miracle Network hospitals in dealers' respective communities.

Customers who make donations by buying balloons also will benefit, according to Jeremy Lewin, ACCC's director of marketing. Some will win 10% discounts on various automotive services, while others will win tires or electronic gadgets, like GPS systems.

A number of ACCC members have committed to the program, including American Tire Distributors Inc. (ATD), he says. (The program runs through April 15.)

"Charities contact us all the time. This is the one that stood out. Not only is it a great charity, but it's also a terrific 'cause marketing' opportunity. I really think (the promotion) will have a level of participation that's almost unheard of."

ACCC held its first meeting to promote the event yesterday, Jan. 20, in Atlanta, Ga. The meeting was attended by several representatives from ATD.

ACCC has more than 1,020 members. The group celebrated its 20th anniversary last year.
