Whiteville, N.C.-based Black's Tire Service recently raised $50,000 for the Boys and Girls' Homes of North Carolina, a group that provides residential care for abused and unwanted children.

The money was raised via the dealership's annual golf tournament, which was held last weekend.

In 2008, the tournament raised $40,000 for the charity. Proceeds are used to pay for food, housing, utilities, personnel and other expenses.

Black's Tire has 29 locations throughout North and South Carolina.
