Enger opens 23rd store, more on the way

July 31, 2009

Euclid, Ohio-based Enger Automotive Inc. has opened its 23rd store, a six-bay retail outlet in North Ridgeville, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb. "Our plan is to have three more stores by the end of the year," says Jim Enger, the dealership's owner (pictured left, in front of the new store.)

"We have a couple of acquisitions in the works," he told www.moderntiredealer.com. "We just haven't pressed the buttons yet."

The North Ridgeville store is the fourth new store that Enger has opened in 2009. In total, the dealership has opened nine stores over the last 18 months, making it one of the fastest growing independent tire dealerships in the country.

The store in North Ridgeville sells Goodyear, Dunlop, Hankook and other passenger and light truck tires. It employs five people. Three to five more employees are expected to be added as business ramps up. The store is managed by Jim Childs.

With 23 outlets, Enger Automotive is the 53rd largest independent tire store chain in the U.S., according to the 2009 Modern Tire Dealer 100, available now in the July issue of MTD.
