SEMA SHOW, Day One: TIA ready to 'go green'

Nov. 3, 2009

Promoting environmentally friendly practices among Tire Industry Association (TIA) members will be a priority for newly installed TIA President Wayne Croswell.

Croswell recently told www.moderntiredealer.com that TIA has formed an environment advisory council, whose goal will be "to figure out what we can do to affect greenhouse gas reductions and the involvement of tire dealers on the retail side... how do you recycle batteries? How do you properly dispose of used oil? We want to bring dealers in to discuss what happens when you get involved in a Superfund site."

The association plans to hold two "green symposiums," one next year and another in 2011, that "will look at a whole series of issues."
