Bosch scan tool adds Volvo, Toyota, Chrysler

Robert Bosch LLC has updated its Mastertech VCI (M-VCI) scan tool with ESI[tronic] 2.0 diagnostic software to add support for Volvo, Toyota and Chrysler vehicles. ESI[tronic] 2.0 complements the scan tool’s Shop Foreman Pro software.

“M-VCI’s software powerhouse provides an unparalleled aftermarket diagnostic and service resource for multiple vehicles, from one common interface. And the inclusion of new Volvo, Toyota and Chrysler support adds to the system’s capability,” says Ravi Subramanyan, senior product manager for Bosch Diagnostics Business Unit.

“The scan tool’s dynamic ESI[tronic] 2.0 diagnostic software features extensive coverage for domestic, Asian – including Korean – and European vehicles, while the Mastertech Shop Foreman Pro Scan Test software provides coverage for 1996 and newer Asian and Domestic vehicles.”

New functions and systems that have been added include:

  • Volvo - special functions support includes EVAP, TPMS, alternator function, automatic A/C, read/clear DTCs and PIDs;
  • Toyota/Lexus/Scion - new Module Status functionality for CAN Multiplexed Network; new system with Read/Clear DTCs, PIDs, and actuators for various systems like Theft Deterrent System; and
  • Chrysler/Dodge - new system with Read/Clear DTCs, PIDs, and actuators for Park Distance Control system.

M-VCI has also added tool support for the “KTS Get Connected kit,” which allows the ability to connect and diagnose older non OBD II-compliant vehicles via ESI[tronic] 2.0. In addition to aftermarket diagnostics, M-VCI also supports OEM diagnostics by supporting General Motors Tech2Win and the BMW ISTA apps.
