Spread the fame: Nominate a TIA Hall of Famer

March 1, 2013

The Tire Industry Association (TIA) is now accepting nominations for the 2013 Tire Industry Hall of Fame, through July 5, 2013.

A nomination form is available for download at www.tireindustry.org, by emailing [email protected] or calling Donna Sage at 301-430-7280, ext. 102.

The Hall of Fame is open to individuals in the tire industry, including manufacturers, inventors, publishers, equipment suppliers, tire association executives, tire dealers, tire and rubber recyclers and retreaders. The Hall of Fame may be awarded posthumously.

Inductees are chosen based on the following criteria: their contributions of new ideas, practices and/or innovations that promote the health and well-being of the tire industry; their exemplary and distinguished service in the tire industry; and the respect of their peers.

Contributions in civic, cultural, educational or charitable endeavors will be considered, but are not a primary consideration as attributes for selection.

“The Tire Industry Hall of Fame gives us an opportunity to recognize those who have given so much to strengthen the industry,” says TIA executive vice president Roy Littlefield. “The Hall of Fame committee always has a challenging task in selecting recipients, as there are so many individuals that are worthy of recognition.”

The 2013 recipients will join 2012 inductees including Randy Clark, chairman and president of Dunn Tire; Bruce Halle, Discount Tire founder; Paul Kruder, founder of Computerized Information and Management Services (awarded posthumously); and Pete Veldman, Tire Rack founder.

The Hall of Fame inductions will take place Nov. 4, 2013 as part of TIA’s Tire Industry Honors event, which takes place prior to the Global Tire Expo – Powered by TIA, which is part of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show, Nov. 5-8, 2013 in Las Vegas.
