SMP Promotes James Burke to COO

James Burke is the new chief operating officer at Standard Motor Products Inc. (SMP). He is currently SMP’s executive vice president finance and chief financial officer.

Burke will continue to serve as a member of the office of the chief executive together with Eric Sills, chief executive officer and president, and Dale Burks, executive vice president and chief commercial officer. Burke will also continue to operate as chief financial officer while the company searches for a successor.

Burke has been with SMP since 1986, when the company acquired EIS Brake Parts, and has 40 years’ experience in the automotive aftermarket.

Headquartered in New York City, SMP is independent manufacturer, the automotive aftermarket industry, with an increasing focus on the original equipment and original equipment service markets. The company distributes parts through its Standard, BWD, TechSmart, Intermotor, Hayden, ACI, Four Seasons brands, and through private labels.
