Survey Says Dealer Tire Is a Top Workplace

July 11, 2019

The Cleveland Plain Dealer says Dealer Tire LLC is a "Top Workplace" in Northeast Ohio. The newspaper selected Dealer Tire based solely on the results of an associate survey administered by an independent research firm.

This was the fourth year Dealer Tire took part in the Plain Dealer Top Workplaces survey, and the third year in a row it was named a Top Workplace. In 2016, the company was named a “Workplace Achiever.”

"We continually focus on employee engagement, using insights gained from internal assessments to develop the benefits, activities and work environments that enable us to attract, develop and retain associates," said Scott Mueller, partner and CEO of Dealer Tire. "The Top Workplaces recognition is a direct reflection of those efforts."

Some of the highlights for Dealer Tire in the 2019 Top Workplaces survey included:

* 85% of Dealer Tire’s associates said they would highly recommend working at the company to others.

* 84% said Dealer Tire motivates them to give their very best.

* 35% of a company’s employees must take part in the Top Workplaces survey to be considered as a possible award winner; 59% of Dealer Tire’s employees completed the survey.

When describing Dealer Tire’s culture, associates most frequently used words such as innovative, collaborative, fair and energetic

The company recently initiated a program called Thrive that is centered on improving the work experience from hire to retire. As part of the Thrive initiative, during the past year Dealer Tire conducted 74 focus groups across the country, with nearly 70% of associates participating. Each group was asked the same four questions, concentrating on what makes Dealer Tire a great workplace now, and what would make it even better in the future.

"The voices of our associates in those focus groups have already had an impact," said Matt Bittner, partner and chief people officer. "We’ve identified actions we can take quickly and others that will take a bit longer to implement. None of this would be possible without our associates’ openness to the process, their honest feedback and great ideas."

Dealer Tire is based in Cleveland, Ohio, but has more than 1,000 associates across the U.S. The company helps auto manufacturers and their dealers grow their tire and light maintenance business.
