TBC Opens NTB "Shop of the Future"

TBC Corp. has opened its NTB Tire & Service Centers "shop of the future" in Greer, S.C., which TBC officials call "the first of its kind" for the NTB brand.

The 9,000-square-foot store features eight service bays, including a designated bay that contains "the latest digital equipment, including drive-over laser readers that test tires' tread depth and reads three positions on each tire. Another element... is a clear, large open view into the service bays for transparency and to allow customers to watch the digitzied inspection process in real-time."

The outlet's customer waiting area offers children's tablets with games, upgraded broadband connectivity, an enhanced concession area, a digital wall showing educational content and more.

"Focus groups, customer surveys and feedback helped us to design a space that was comfortable for customers, ideal for associates and now affords us the opportunity to exceed customer expectations at a beautiful location that is state-of-the-art and conveniently located," says TBC President and CEO Erik Olsen.

TBC chose Greer due to its proximity to Michelin North America Inc.'s headquarters in Greenville, S.C., which owns 50% of TBC.
