July 22, 2015

Big O Tires LLC recently added 43 recipients to its list of scholarship winners as part of its work to give back to the communities where franchisors operate their businesses.

The Big O Tires Scholarship Fund was established in 2003. To-date, the scholarship fund has impacted the lives of more than 200 students by providing more than $300,000 in financial assistance for continuing their education.

"We are proud to support future generations by providing financial contributions that will assist students as they expand their educational horizons and strive to achieve their professional goals,” says Kevin Kormondy, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Big O Tires. “The Big O Tires Scholarship Fund has not only impacted the lives of the scholarship recipients, but our internal organization as well; it reminds us about the power of education and giving back to the community. We feel fortunate that we are able to do so through this fund and we look forward to continuing for years to come.”

To be eligible, applicants must be employees or family members of Big O or a Big O franchisee and be graduating from high school or currently enrolled in post-secondary education courses.  To be considered, applicants must complete an application, submit two essays, supply transcripts and information regarding extracurricular experience, and demonstrate financial need.
