Everyone in the tire industry knows how important it is to keep your tires properly inflated (we dare you to find me someone who doesn't). But should you charge for it?
Ray Labuda says no. As the vice president of tire technology for Hankook Tire America Corp., he knows tire pressure should be checked regularly. As a child growing up in a suburb of Pittsburgh, Pa., he worked at a gas station, and "aired up" tires for free.
And that's how it should be, he says. How passionate is he about the topic? Read (and the headline gives it away) "Charging for air is blasphemy, says tire engineer," the latest blog by Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich.
