The Bosch Automotive Aftermarket division of Robert Bosch LLC has successfully completed its acquisition of the Unipoint Group, based in Taipei, Taiwan.
The action was finalized following approval by the antitrust authorities. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
“By acquiring the Unipoint Group, we can secure our position as the leading supplier of starters, alternators and wiper blades in the automotive aftermarket, as well as consistently expanding our business in Asia,” said Robert Hanser, chairman of the Divisional Board of the Automotive Aftermarket division.
In 2010, the Unipoint Group achieved $124 million in sales. It currently employs 2,360 associates at two production locations in mainland China and Taiwan. There are also various sales locations. The Unipoint and NSA brands will be retained.
Bosch says the acquisition of the Unipoint Group represents an effort by the Bosch Automotive Aftermarket division to strengthen its position as the leading supplier of starters and alternators.
The company also wishes to invest in the temperature control product segment. The acquisition also adds another Asian production base to the wiper blade business unit.
