Bridgestone company-owned stores near 2,200

Dec. 16, 2011

Bridgestone Retail Operations LLC opened its 49th Firestone Complete Auto Care store this year on Dec. 16, 2011. That gives the company nearly 2,200 company-owned retail stores across the country.

More openings are planned for 2012, says Bridgestone.

The newest store is located in Riverview, Fla. The store manager hosted a grand opening today, with racing legend Mario Andretti on hand to sign autographs. Andretti has been part of the Firestone family for more than four decades -- as both a race car driver and spokesman.

During the first day of the three-day grand opening event, Firestone Complete Auto Care representatives presented donation checks to the Meals On Wheels Department of Family Aging. Karla Munoz accepted the check on behalf of the local Meals On Wheels Association of America program.

“Our Firestone Complete Auto Care stores are important parts of their communities,” says Ron Seagle, zone vice president. “Our teammates not only care about the safety of our customers on the roads, but we care about the communities that we call home."

The celebration will continue throughout the weekend with raffles, prizes, discounted services and fun for the customers and their families, including the Bigfoot Monster Truck and live entertainment on Saturday provided by 107.9 WXGL FM and 102.5 WHPT FM.

“By conveniently providing a wide range of automotive services, we help ensure that our customers are able to keep their vehicles running newer longer,” says Kevin Edmunds, store manager, Firestone Complete Auto Care. “We are committed to providing them with the best automotive service possible.”
