The Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act, which was recently introduced to the U.S. Senate, has two more supporters, Sens. Christopher Dodd (D-CT) and John Kerry (D-MA).
The Right to Repair Act has been designed to protect vehicle owners "from a growing and potentially hazardous vehicle repair monopoly by requiring car companies provide full access at a reasonable cost to all service information, tools and safety-related bulletins needed to repair motor vehicles," say supporters of the legislation.
A House version of the Right to Repair Act was introduced last year. It currently has 61 sponsors.
