PA to help pay for nitrogen inflation machines

July 12, 2010

Pennsylvania is offering to reimburse tire dealerships and auto service shops for nitrogen inflation equipment purchases thanks to the state's Nitrogen Tire Inflation System Grant Program.

"Service providers are eligible for up to $5,000 in reimbursement costs," says a statement released by the state. "Applicants must provide a 50% match of the equipment's total cost. Equipment must deliver at least 95% nitrogen, according to manufacturer specifications, and it must be installed after July 1, 2010."

A total of $100,000 is available for reimbursements. The program will remain open until funds have been exhausted or until June 30, 2011.
