Goodyear opens truck maintenance center

July 21, 2010

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s Wingfoot Commercial Tire Systems subsidiary has opened a new truck maintenance center in Midland, Texas.

Located along Interstate 20, a major trade route between Texas and Mexico, the center will provide trucking fleets and owner-operators with new tires, retreads, light mechanical service, roadside assistance and other functions.

"Locating our new center here will bring our fleet maintenance services closer to where they are needed," says Clint Schrock, director of on-highway operations for Wingfoot.

"In addition, the Midland center is another big step in our effort to help lower trucking fleets' tire and maintenance operating costs with important tire and maintenance tracking tools available in more locations throughout the U.S."

Wingfoot has more than 140 commercial tire locations nationwide.

"With the addition of the new truck care center in Midland, Wingfoot now has 33 on-highway truck care centers nationwide," say Goodyear officials.
