The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has added another city to its 2016 Certified Automotive Tire Service (ATS) Instructor Tour: Baltimore, Md.

The four-day class will be held June 21-24 at the Community College of Baltimore County. As always, it will provide in-depth instruction on a number of topics related to the servicing of passenger and light truck tires. The topics include:

* vehicle lifting.

* lug nut torque procedures.

* demounting, mounting and inflation guidelines.

* balance techniques.

* tire repair procedures.

* tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) identification.

* TPMS sensor service.

* TPMS relearn procedures (domestic and import).

* TPMS diagnostics.

The Certified ATS Instructor class is a combination of classroom and hands-on instruction. It covers all of the industry guidelines from TIA, the Rubber Manufacturers Association, the Automotive Lift Institute and the Tire and Rim Association.

Following the training and successful completion of the Final Exam, students are recognized as TIA Certified ATS Instructors, which gives them the credentials to return to the dealership to train and certify technicians.
