Trelleborg, Bill’s Tire team up for Farm Tech Days

Aug. 3, 2011

Trelleborg Wheel Systems Americas Inc. recently attended Farm Technology Days in Marshfield, Wis., along with Bill’s Tires and Service, Colby, Wis. At the event the companies demonstrated the high performance capabilities of Trelleborg agricultural tires.

The company says the high flotation characteristics of Trelleborg tires have particular benefits in Wisconsin’s wet conditions, maximizing the time that can be spent in the field.

“The show was a perfect opportunity to listen to our end user needs and support them with the quality of our product and services” says Andrea Masella, marketing manager of Trelleborg Agricultural and Forestry Products for North Americas.

“The Farm Technology Days have been a great success and a perfect way to promote flotation and high speed concepts among our customers”, says Bill Schiltz, owner of Bill’s Tires and Service. “In Wisconsin you cannot rely on the weather to plan the work in the fields. Most of the time we have to work in wet conditions, without affecting the quality and the cost of the operation. That’s why we need Trelleborg high flotation tires, which offer the highest traction capability with the maximum respect of the soil.”

The feedback from customers at the Farm Technology Days was very positive. Art Petke, owner of Triple A Custom Service LLC, a farmer dedicated to combining of corn and soy bean in Wisconsin, says:  “Being a third generation farmer I’ve used all kind of tires to perform my job. About four years ago, I had the first set of Trelleborg TM2000, 900/60R32 181A8 for my New Holland TR99.

“Here in Wisconsin we need to enter the fields to harvest even when it is raining and the soil is very muddy. Often, already in November, there is more than a foot of snow on the ground. Since using Trelleborg TM2000s I don’t have to look at the weather to plan my work. The slippage is minimal and the traction is great.”
