TRIB’s Stevens shares goals with ACTN

Nov. 15, 2011

David Stevens, managing director of the Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB), was a speaker last week at two American Commercial Tire Network (ACTN) conferences.

ACTN’s Manufacturing Group met in San Antonio, Texas, and the group’s annual meeting took place later in the week Phoenix, Ariz.

ACTN (www.tire-network.com) is a group of leading independent commercial tire dealers. The network has created a nationwide emergency road service network that provides emergency road service for commercial vehicles.

Formed in 1999, the alliance has grown to include 16 member companies that operate 1,800 service vehicles in 42 states. ACTN members own more than 75 retread plants and 385 service locations with 6,100 employees nationwide.

“At both ACTN events, I was able to discuss the many changes we've put in place and TRIB's accomplishments over the last 12 months,” said Stevens. “In addition to being great opportunities to meet more of our members face-to-face, these conferences were also great forums to discuss some of the challenges facing our industry and ways that TRIB can better meet the needs of all our members.”

Stevens said the feedback from these conferences, as well as the feedback received from other members, will help to develop and refine plans for 2012.
