East Bay Tire: 65 years and counting

Nov. 30, 2011

East Bay Tire Co. is celebrating its 65th anniversary in December. Founded in 1946, the fourth-generation, family owned tire dealer has made its mark as one of the premier tire wholesalers and commercial dealers on the West Coast.

More than 180 employees and friends are expected to attend the anniversary/Christmas party, according to the company. East Bay has locations in Fairfield, Fresno, Benicia, Sacramento and Pittsburg, Calif., and Honolulu, Hawaii.

CEO George Pehanick says the company is experiencing a banner year, with growth in all divisions -- commercial, wholesale and export. "Part of East Bay Tire Co’s success is its people. Without our expert team members and management we wouldn’t be the same reliable company as we have been for the last 65 years."

Sales of its specialty service private brand tire, the Dawg Pound. also are up. The line continues to add new distributors across the U.S. and the world, says the company. Many new sizes of R-1 tires are being added to the Dawg Pound line in 2012.
