Pirelli Tire North America Inc. named new leadership to head its operations in North America, effective January 2015. Pierluigi Dinelli will be appointed chairman and CEO of Pirelli’s NAFTA region, replacing Paolo Ferrari, who will become CEO of the Pirelli Latin America region.
Dinelli rejoins the NAFTA team from Pirelli’s headquarters in Italy, where he has held the role of CEO for Pirelli Italia. The company said he brings international experience to the position having held senior positions at Brembo as chief marketing officer and former marketing director at Pirelli’s NAFTA headquarters in Rome, Ga.
“I look forward to returning to America as the new chairman and CEO of Pirelli Tire North America," says Dinelli. "The local team has done an incredible job of growing market share and driving new initiatives.
"I am thrilled to build on his legacy and bring my knowledge of the market, combined with my recent position at Pirelli’s headquarters, to continue fueling our momentum.”
In its press release announcing Ferrari's move, Pirelli said under Ferrari's leadership the NAFTA group scaled up its presence in North America across all areas of the business. The company pointed to the expansion of the industrial footprint with the roll-out of the new factory in Silao, Mexico, the renewal of the product portfolio with the introduction of new replacement “Plus” lines, and the enhancement of marketing and distribution programs such as FasTrack associate dealer program.
"It has been a true honor to lead the NAFTA team and lay the foundation for continued future growth for Pirelli in North America," says Ferrari. "Our investments in North America show Pirelli’s commitment to the region and it has been exciting to see our brand and presence growth in the region.
"While I’m sad to leave a talented team and exciting marketplace, I’m also looking forward to the new challenges and opportunities that await me in Latin America."
