Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. recently staged a second-phase tree planting ceremony at its passenger tire factory in the Philippines.
The ceremony was part of the Tokyo, Japan-based company's Forever Forest Project, whose goal is to create forests at various production facilitues in anticipation of Yokohama's 100th anniversary in 2017.
Nearly 5,000 seedlings were planted during the Philippines factory event. Around 6,000 seedlings were planted at the factory in summer 2008.
