TBC Corp. will appoint Bill Schafer as chief revenue officer of TBC Wholesale following the planned retirement of Rodger Smith.

Since joining TBC in March 2024, Schafer has focused on the growth of TBC’s wholesale business. Smith will stay with TBC through December 2026 to ensure a smooth transition, according to TBC officials.

"Bill and Rodger previously partnered to lead TBC's wholesale strategy and reinforce TBC's mission of being the distributor of choice in the markets we serve," says Don Byrd, president and chief executive officer of TBC Corporation. "Our focus is clear: TBC will continue to drive value-creating solutions for our customers in the mobility and automotive industry through exceptional service, a diverse product portfolio and innovative solutions."

Schafer’s experience includes 30 years with Michelin where he held various leadership roles and oversaw all business-to-business sales, distribution and operations activities for the company’s North American region and led a team of more than 600 people.

Smith is a 45-year veteran sales executive with extensive cross-sector experience. Following his appointment to TBC in 2020, Smith oversaw many of the company's strategic initiatives, including bolstering its national sales organization and introducing Supply Chain as a Service (SCaaS).
